The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love hanging out with friends and family, fireworks, and barbecues. This year we went up to Wyoming where Jesse’s grandparents have a cabin. It was the first family reunion this side of the family had in a long time.
I got to meet some of Jesse’s cousins for the first time. We got in pretty late on the night of the 1st. Because there were so many of us we had 2 cabins between all the family members. We popped in and said a quick hello to the grandparents before heading to the cabin we were staying in.
The next morning we woke up nice and early to go on a razor ride. Jesse and I were both excited because neither of us had ever gone on a razor ride before. It ended up being about a 5 hour trip! We drove up a mountain to a lake. We had a picnic lunch there. Bryson, my brother in law, jumped in.
I have never been as dusty as I was that day. The razor we were in had a little mini windshield that didn’t keep much out. Most of our group wore goggles, but my glasses were too big to fit into them. We wore handkerchiefs around our nose and mouth and they were serious lifesavers.
The views up there were amazing!! At one point there so many flowers I felt like we were in The Sound of Music. We definitely want to get back out on razors soon.
We took family pictures in matching shirts later in the day and then we mostly just hung out with everyone. Each night we were there we stayed up late talking through the night. Nights like that are always my favorite.
We headed home on the fourth to spend some time with my family. We had a barbecue and then watched fireworks in my moms backyard. Now that aerial fireworks are legal in Utah the fourth is better than ever. From her backyard we saw huge fireworks in almost every direction. It was a great way to end my favorite holiday.
